Wintersession 2008 Final: Trash to Treasure
Illustration on bleed-proof vellum colored with marker; flats drawn with Micron markers.

Mounted on 14" x 18" Museum board.

For this assignment, we were asked to create a garment using recycled materials; we could use old things from the Recycling Center, clothes we found at thrift stores, etc.

I decided to use Diet Coke cans and black trash bags. The bodice I made of Diet Coke cans, and I draped the skirt with black trash bags. To attach everything I used silver duct tape. I used about 23 cans for the bodice (including when I had to re-do the bust because boobs are awkward to fit); four large black garbage bags were used for the skirt and draping. I borrowed the boots.
