Jordana Scheer has been making, studying, and teaching art throughout her life. She creates artwork that explores concepts and materials, intertwining them with social and environmental issues. Jordana Scheer was born in 1983 and grew up in Monmouth County, NJ. She received her BFA in 2004 from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA. During this time she spent a semester studying at Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. While getting her undergraduate degree, Jordana worked with non-profit public arts groups organizing art shows and leading mural projects with homeless shelters and universities. She also participated in art festivals throughout the United States. After graduating Jordana worked as a muralist and art teacher nationally and internationally with various groups including an orphanage, summer camps, state park, community center and private school. She also spent time working in a museum and art galleries. Jordana received her MAT in 2009 from Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with honors. While getting her graduate degree, Jordana taught art at a charter and public school, children’s hospital and continuing education classes. After graduating Jordana Scheer became head of the art department at an international school in South America. She is currently working as an artist teacher in New Jersey.
